Objective: To investigate the value of EEG, BEAM and CT in the diagnosis of cerebral cysticercosis. Methods 263 cases of cerebral cysticercosis test results were compared. Results The abnormal rates of EEG, BEAM and CT in this group were 63.9%, 79.1% and 84.0% respectively. BEAM was 15.2% higher than that of EEG, suggesting that BEAM is better than visual EEG. It can distinguish subtle changes of EEG which are hard to identify in visual observation, and show the energy distribution of different leads and frequency bands with quantitative analysis value. The diagnostic coincidence rate of CT and BEAM was 86.4%, and the coincidence rate of fixed side or location was 82.5%. Conclusion BEAM and CT provide an important basis for the diagnosis of cerebral cysticercosis from the aspects of brain function and morphology.
