1952年12月,英国伦敦数日无风。颗粒污染物等在城市上空蓄积,引发了连续的雾霾天气。当时,伦敦正举办一场牛展览会,参展的350头牛中有52头严重中毒、14头奄奄一息、1头当场死亡。不久,伦敦市民也对这场雾霾产生了反应,许多人感到呼吸困难、眼睛刺痛,出现哮喘、咳嗽等症状的病人明显增多,进而死亡率陡增。此后两个月,有数千人死于呼吸系统疾病。这就是令人震惊的1952年伦敦雾霾事件。
December 1952, London, England a few days no wind. Particulate matter and other accumulation in the city over, causing a continuous fog and haze. At the time, London was hosting a cattle exhibition, involving 52 serious poisoning of 350 cattle at the show, 14 dying and 1 death on the spot. Soon the people of London also reacted to the haze. Many people felt it was difficult to breathe and their eyes were stinging. There was a marked increase in the number of patients suffering from symptoms such as asthma and cough, leading to a sharp increase in mortality. In the next two months, thousands of people died of respiratory diseases. This is a shocking 1952 London haze incident.
