Maria Irene Fornés, 1930 - One of the leaders in the Broadway movement outside the 1960s. Born in Havana, Cuba, she was 14 and immigrated to the United States with her mother and sister, became a U.S. citizen a few years later and spent considerable time at the Capezio shoe factory. In order to change the situation, she worked hard to learn English and became a translator. At the age of 19, Faun Si began to interest in painting and accepted formal training in abstract art. However, she was deeply influenced by the “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett in Paris in the 1950s and took the road to dramatic creation.
