A Meiji Restoration in Japan was a bourgeois revolution launched by a bourgeois warrior group that united with the aristocracy of Kyoto and the landlord-bourgeoisie. Although this is an incomplete revolution, it basically basically reversed the feudal shogunate government that ruled Japan for 270 years and established a bourgeois constitutional monarchy. After the curtain down in 1868, Japan implemented the three major policies of “industrial development,” “enriching the nation and strengthening the military,” and “civilized liberalization”, opening the way for the development of Japan’s capitalism.
