Uranium often forms natural symbiotic associations with organic matter in sedimentary rocks, including plant remnants of varying degrees of variability, which leads us to speculate that there is a mechanism for uranium accumulation after plant organisms have died. It is well known that living plant organisms seldom accumulate uranium in plant tissues [1]. In plant residues that are strongly degraded by decomposition and resemble humus in nature, the combination of uranium from aqueous solutions may be due to ion exchange within the humic acid group [2-5]. Plant tissues with little change in study composition, and some cellulose change products were incubated with aqueous uranyl salts under various conditions
