南洋杉树形优美,适宜在冬季温暖、湿润的亚热带气候环境中生长,在长江以北地区,只能作为温室盆景花木。据笔者对南洋杉栽培的观察,发现植株每年可长高30～50厘米,经4、5年的培养,大多数植株高2米左右,长在盆中头重脚轻,很容易被风吹倒。随着南洋杉顶端新梢不断抽发、花盆以上老枝叶渐渐变黄枯干如果剪去老的枝叶,势必出现植株下、中部无枝叶脱脚现象,严重影响观赏效果。
Araucaria trees graceful, suitable for winter in warm, humid subtropical climate growth in the north of the Yangtze River, only as a greenhouse bonsai. According to the author’s observation of Araucaria, it is found that plants can grow 30-50 cm in length each year. After 4 or 5 years of cultivation, most plants grow about 2 meters in height and grow in the top-heavy pots and are easily blown down by the wind.
