According to the latest forecast by Freedonia Group, a well-known market research firm, by the year 2012, the U.S. market for electronic security products and systems including video surveillance and alarm systems will reach 15.6 billion U.S. dollars. The market will grow by 9.3% annually by 2014. Access control remains the largest and fastest growing sector, followed by alarm and vehicle safety. Despite the impact of the financial crisis and the reduction of major budgets in major cities in the country, the number of surveillance cameras installed in law enforcement vehicles in the United States continued to increase. At present, the video surveillance system has begun to cover the size of the United States cities, ranging from big cities such as Chicago, Washington DC, small cities and towns such as the Gulf of Virginia to install and run the city video surveillance system. In particular, the introduction of HD network cameras and the increasing adoption of open standards such as PSIA and ONVIF have led to the shift to networked video surveillance applications.
