Wang Wen-shao was Governor-General Ren Yungui during the period of 15 to 20 years (1889-1944) of the Qing Emperor Guangxu. The “Diary of Wang Wenshao” left by him was an important source of information on the history of Yunnan in the late Qing Dynasty. This article takes “Wang Wen Shao Diary” as the center, the main line signed by China and Britain in 1894, “Renewal of Commerce Terms of Burma and Myanmar Boundary Line”, combined with literatures of “Qing Record” and “Guangxu Xuan Tong” According to the materials involved, Wang Wen-shao’s understanding of the Burma-Myanmar border was rather unimportant. We can not completely negate his efforts because Wang Wenshao made extremely serious mistakes during his inspection of the Burma border. Due to the lack of modern concepts of territoriality and sovereignty by the late Qing government and its border officials, they often lost ground when demarcating, a feature of that era.
