在我国节水农业发展过程中，往往只注意单项的工程技术如渠道防渗、低压管道输水、喷灌和微灌的推广，缺乏将这些技术和农业措施紧密结合的综合集成技术，导致单一技术的推广出现困难，甚至夭折现象的出现。工程节水技术与非工程节水技术相结合，形成高度集成的综合节水技术体系是当前节水农业技术发展的方向。
