艺术的本质是从古到今中西方一直在不停地探索研究的一个哲学命题。本文将从西方关于艺术的本质提出的模仿论分析,首先要知道什么是摹仿说:它艺术发展论的一种说法,艺术最初的来源是模仿,模仿大自然的景观,模仿自然界的人物动物。并且就模仿论的作品进行分析,在对模仿论进行肯定的基础上提出模仿论的不足之处:摹仿说更加侧重于将艺术禁锢在摹仿世界的范围内研究,缺忽略了艺术本身就是具有美的性质,在认识论的主客关系中,只看到了客观的世界,却忘了艺术有着客观世界所没有的艺术家的主观能动性及表现性,因此从认识论看艺术本身就是不客观不科学的,不能代表艺术的本质。
