ＷＨＯ最新公布的统计资料表明，截止１９９３年１２月，欧洲共有３７个国家报告了１０３４０２例艾滋病病例。１９８７～１９９２年欧洲国家报告的艾滋病病例逐年增加。法国是欧洲国家中报告病例最多的国家，报告了２６９７０例，排在全球的第七位。西班牙共报告了２１２０５例，在欧洲排在第二位。法国１９９２年居民中艾滋病发病率增加为７８／１００万。意大利、德国和英国的病例数排在第三到第五位。罗马尼亚儿童中ＨＩＶ感染状况较为严重。
The latest statistics released by WHO show that as of December 1993, a total of 103,402 AIDS cases were reported in 37 countries in Europe. The number of AIDS cases reported by European countries increased from 1987 to 1992. France, the country with the most reported cases in European countries, reported 26,970 cases, ranking the seventh in the world. Spain reported a total of 21,205 cases, ranking second in Europe. In 1992, the incidence of AIDS among residents in France increased to 78/100 million. The number of cases in Italy, Germany and the UK came in third to fifth place. The prevalence of HIV infection among Romanian children is more serious.
