The French language policy has undergone a process of transition from the harsh French monolingual system to the relatively loose multilingualism. On the face of it, it seems that France has completely changed the concept and policy of French nationalism in its harsh monolingual period. However, the analysis shows that behind this turnaround is not only filled with many contradictory ideological conflicts, but also the French Revolution The political ideology of Jacobinism in “one country, one family, one term” has not really changed. This not only shows the inconsistency of French multilingual policy shift, but also reveals the strategic significance of its policy shift more deeply. The essence of this is the political stance of France responding to the demands of multilingualism and multiculturalism at home and abroad.
