语言是人类传递信息的一种方式,本文借“语言”一词来论述现代陶艺的表达方式,目的是更清晰地剖析现代陶艺的艺术表现形式以及艺术的内涵。陶艺通过泥土和火产生的色、质、形的变化,形成一种特殊语言形式。由于现代陶艺的语言表达形式同传统陶艺的语言表达形式有着一定的差异,因此,有必要对现代陶艺的基本概念作细致的论述。现代陶艺是一种新的艺术形式,它的萌芽至今有近百年历史,这门艺术的真正形成和迅速发展是在20世纪50年代后期。代表性人物有美国陶艺家彼得·沃克思、日本陶艺家八木一夫等。他们对现代陶艺的最大贡献就是全新的做陶观念及全面否定陶瓷的实用性功能作用,注重做陶过程中个人情感的介入和陶瓷材料在艺术创作中的物性表达。
Language is a way for people to transmit information. This article uses the term “language” to discuss the expression of modern pottery, with the purpose of more clearly analyzing the artistic expression of modern pottery and its connotation. Pottery through the soil and fire produced by the color, quality, shape changes, the formation of a special language form. Because of the difference between the language expression of modern pottery and that of traditional pottery, it is necessary to elaborate on the basic concepts of modern pottery. Modern pottery is a new art form. Its germination has nearly a hundred years history. The real formation and rapid development of this art came into being in the late 1950s. Representative figures are the American potter Peter Walker, Japanese potter Kazuo Yagi and so on. Their greatest contribution to the modern ceramic art is a new concept of pottery and a total negation of the practical function of ceramic function, focusing on personal involvement in the process of pottery and ceramic materials in the artistic creation of the physical expression.
