In 1929, Chiang Kai-shek's office, the supreme chairman of the Nanjing National Government, replaced the original old-style telephone and newly installed a U.S.-made automatic telephone. However, this call-and-talk tool, which symbolizes the continuous improvement of human civilization, has not brought much relief to the “great nation of the Republic,” and often it is troublesome to the contrary that he is constantly rumored to have “dropped calls.” The early contacts with Chiang Kai-shek's telephones were all manual, with private lines generally in charge. It was rare to get through now. When Chiang Kai-shek had a busy phone call when he was on the phone, the operator could cut off the other calls that were going through as soon as the “chairman wanted to call”. Although Chiang Kai-shek's table was also fashionable for an automatic telephone call, Chiang Kai-shek, accustomed to the traditional method of communication, could not cultivate any interest in this new thing. He felt himself having to make a phone call or dialing the wrong number . Finally dialed the phone, but also issued a busy tone, often angry that he will call to the ground 掼. One phone call from Chiang, of course, is the man under him.
