Terrorism is one of the indispensable elements of the Gothic novel. How to create a sense of terror has always been a technical issue that critics are very concerned about. However, previous studies mainly focused on analyzing the horror of the story content / events and the different types of Gothic novels , Ignoring the different types of horror that have different demands on narrator’s personality and focus. By analyzing the narrative techniques of “The Fall of the House of Usher” and comparing it with Lewis’s monk, this article reveals how Allan Poe passed the unique position of the narrator, the limited narrative threshold, the varying degree of narrative reliability and its Fictional world features such as the juxtaposition of skills to write “terror of mind ”, in order to make up for the lack of previous analysis point of view.
