电子计算机应用日益普及。电子设备如电视、音响等已成为家用电器。它们的工作原理已为人们熟悉。由于激光的发明和信息、通讯理论引入到光学中,并随着光处理研究的开展,光所具有的传递、处理信息的优越潜在性能正在逐渐变为现实。我们已经可以看到在某些场合光纤替代了传统的传输线,光盘替换了磁带。利用离散光学元件的光处理设备研制成功的消息时有报导。通用的全光计算机不久也将问世。
The popularity of computer applications. Electronic devices such as television, audio, etc. have become household appliances. Their working principles are familiar to people. Due to the invention and information of laser, communication theory has been introduced into optics. With the development of light processing research, the superior potential of light transmission and processing information is gradually becoming a reality. We can already see that on some occasions optical fibers have replaced traditional transmission lines and optical discs have replaced tapes. Reports of the successful development of light processing equipment using discrete optics have been reported. A universal all-optical computer will soon come out.
