Various characteristics can influence students’second language acquisition and language development,which includes age,gender,personality,cognitive ability,motivation,learning strategies and so on.Among all these factors mentioned,motivation factor that is categorized into learner factors affects learner’s learning effect to a great extent.In this paper,motivation characteristic that influences second language learning are discussed.At last,some strategies on the real classroom teaching application are provided after the discussion,which aims at making contribution to the second language teaching process as well as students’language development.
