美国太空总署公布一张发人深省的地图。这是由美国国防气象卫星在2006年8月11日的24小时内根据不同角度拍摄,并从太空中记录下全世界各地夜间的灯光亮度,最终合成的“世界夜间灯光”地图。通过该地图即清晰可见,全世界夜间最亮的地方,在美国的东、西海岸和欧洲的大部,尤其是日本本土,灯光几乎使它变为了白色之岛。而整个非洲大陆和俄罗斯广袤的中部国土,又几乎是黑压压的一片。对比最鲜明的是朝鲜半岛。其北部的朝鲜漆黑一团,其南部的韩国则尤为明亮耀眼……
NASA released a thought-provoking map. This was taken by the U.S. National Defense Weather Satellite from different angles within 24 hours of August 11, 2006, and the nighttime light intensity of the world from all over the world was recorded from space. The resulting “World Night Light” map was finally synthesized. It is clear from the map that the lights of the world’s brightest nights at almost the eastern and western coasts of the United States and much of Europe, especially Japan, have almost turned it into a white island. And the entire Central African continent and Russia, the vast central territory, is almost a dark mass. The most obvious contrast is the Korean Peninsula.
