India is revitalizing its communications infrastructure. The goal announced by the Ministry of Communications is to provide the nation with a state-of-the-art optical fiber communication backbone. Because of economy and reliability, they use optical fiber instead of radio, satellite or copper cables. In India, the rainy season has caused most of the country’s radio systems to be seriously damaged. Therefore, reliability is the key. In order to ensure reliability under such conditions, the Indian government has chosen to embed single-mode optical fiber lines. Although it is difficult to obtain accurate figures on fiber optics in India, the United States Department of Commerce estimates that during the period from 1990 to 1995, the Indian government would spend US$11 billion to modernize the communications network. The annual growth rate of India’s total electronic market is about 35%, and the total market in 1990 is estimated at more than 5 billion US dollars. Can see the development of its optoelectronics and electronics industry health.
