A number of companies have incorporated kanban procedures into their systems and have demonstrated that it is a simple and effective method for implementing Just in Time(JIT) philosophy.In this paper,first we study the kanban systems;then we analyzes the models of kanban systems,include simulation models and Markov chain models;finally,we develop a mathematical optimization model that addresses a mufti-item,mufti-stage network for application to general supply chain systems.The dual-type kanban control system is adapted to plan and allocate production and delivery throughout the supply chain system.The objective is to minimize the operating cost and inventory holding cost.
