Walter Petter’s aesthetic theory of art for art has profound moral significance. Pate’s aestheticist view inherited Kant’s aesthetic thinking, he pointed out that the most basic characteristic of aesthetic activities is its irrelevant interests. Pate encourage art for the arts, it is based on the unrelated interests of aesthetic activities. Art is appreciated for appreciation, appreciation of the process is the purpose, purpose and means have been unified. Pate advocates aesthetic treatment of life, which is the questioning and balance of utilitarianism and teleology prevailing in real life, which shows the moral concern inherent in Pate aestheticism.
