With over seventy years of Cristo and Jeanne Claude, there are only 19 works completed, but each is world famous. Not only are these pieces extremely difficult to achieve, they are also prohibitively expensive. They cover the river and wrap up the Capitol and the coast. They never accept sponsorship or commission, and also refuse to explain any profound implications for the work, insisting that it is only about joy and beauty. In the early 1960s, the art of earth was born in the west and became popular in less than 10 years. Land Art, Earth Art, or Earthworks are sometimes translated as “landscapes” to reveal the creative features of the work based on natural landscapes such as land, valleys and public buildings.
