Objective To study the dose-rate effect of low-dose ionizing radiation on the immune system in mice. Methods The radiation dose (0.075,0.5,2.0 Gy), the constant dose rate (0.5 mGy / min), the low, medium and high doses of ~ (60) Co- One-time irradiation of mice, ELISA detection of plasma IL-12 and IL-10 levels after 4h. RESULTS: The levels of IL-12, IL-10 and IL-12 / IL-10 in plasma were almost the same after low and medium doses of irradiation; however, the levels of IL-12 were further significantly decreased and the levels of IL-10 To the control group, IL-12 / IL-10 ratio decreased further. CONCLUSION: The radiation dose of ~ (60) Co-γ at a dose rate of 0.5 mGy / min can damage the immune function of human body. The damage is slight in the dose range of 0.075-0.5Gy and the damage is obvious at 2.0Gy. Rate ionizing radiation has damaging effects on the immune system.
