China is the first country in the world to invent silkworms. The ancient Greek historian Herodotos, circa 484-425 BC, in his book History, called China Seres. In the mid-Western Han Dynasty (BC), Chinese silk and silk fabrics were transported westward by the Weihe River basin (Chang’an) to Daqin (Rome) via the Hexi Corridor; and from Xuwen (a concrete harbor at Shwei Village and Wuqiao (Tail port of the village), Hepu (specific port in this Beihai Hepu County Qianzhou five kilometers southwest of dry body dike south of the Yangtze River estuary Sanyang Port) southwest of shipping to the sea beyond the country (Sri Lanka) far away , Thus forming the Silk Road which was later referred to as land and sea. Since then, China’s silk and silk fabrics are more and more famous all over the world, and later Western countries use this homonym to call Chinese “Chinese” and China as “China.”
