我市栽培番茄已有30多年的历史,常年栽培面积占菜田总面积的15%左右,是春播作物中的主要品种。长期以来,番茄产量不高不稳,单产一直徘徊在30~40担水平,市场供应偏紧,农民收益较低。为此,我们进行了大量调查和试验研究工作,摸清影响无锡地区番茄高产稳产的主要原因后,因地制宜采用综合配套的栽培技术,使番茄质量迅速提高,1982~1984年三年中,全市平均单产达5105斤,比1979~1981年三年平均单产提高21.05%,亩产值平均净增150~200元。
