中亚地区已成为中国民航业对接“一带一路”建设的重点区域。哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦、乌兹别克斯坦、土库曼斯坦、塔吉克斯坦等中亚五国与中国间航空市场持续增长,乌鲁木齐西部门户国际枢纽地位正由此不断提高,一直致力于乌鲁木齐枢纽建设的南航也受益颇多。2016年南航已通航中亚五国8条航线,每周平均单向班次达到23班,以乌鲁木齐为节点,成为中国辐射中亚市场的中国最大航空承运人。在进入中 Central Asia has become a key area for the docking of China’s civil aviation industry and the construction of the “Belt and Road”.
