The Japan Space Development Agency (NASDA) is conducting the basic design of the HOPE (orbital vehicle launched into orbit by H-II). The purpose of the present study is to establish a viable solution to HOPE and to prepare technologically. HOPE’s primary mission is to provide logistics services for the JL / JEM. In addition to the previously studied scheme of a 10-ton orbital vehicle launched by an H-II launch vehicle, considering the future performance of the H-II launch vehicle will be improved, various orbital spacecraft programs of increasing volume and weight have also been studied, of which One of them is an orbital aircraft that has a payload of 20 tons and a payload of 3 to 5 tons. The design of subsystems and technical studies in areas such as aerodynamics, structure, materials, guidance, navigation and control are under way. In order to obtain re-orbital flight data, plans have been made to use the 1993 H-Ⅱ flight test to track orbit re-entry experiments with such orbiting vehicles and proceed with technical preparations in this regard.
