本刊1965年第6期所载尚仰震同志的“电化学上的符号问题”一文,详细地讨论了电化学符号的混乱现象,并认为“现在已经具备了足够的条件,完全可以使电极电位的符号明确合理化,完全可以使我们摆脱习惯规则的硬性束缚,走上理之当然的道路,整个统一起来”。电位的符号问题对于初学者确实会引起一些麻烦的,这个问题在化学教学上是值得讨论一番的。国外对于这个问题,曾在1954年作出规定,保留了下列两种“习用法”:
