The oxide film that has peeled off from the boiler will erode the blades of the turbine, and the damage of the blades will be directly related to the efficiency and availability of the steam turbine. Recent studies in the United States have shown that hard particle erosion of vanes, buckets, and regulating valves in modern steam turbines is a ubiquitous problem in the United States (see Figure 1). It is estimated that the loss caused by hard particle erosion in 1980 was 100 million U.S. dollars. Today, some experts believe that the resulting annual losses have exceeded 150 million U.S. dollars. In general, this loss can include the following three aspects: a.
