Allied International, one of the four major news agencies in the West, changed hands again in June this year. This is the fourth time the agency has changed its owner in the past decade. On June 23, the United States Federal Bankruptcy Court agreed to buy the Allied International Corp. for $ 3.95 million by a Middle East Broadcasting Center company based in London, putting an end to the hard work of saving the community for nearly a year. The Middle East Broadcasting Center, based in London, was founded in 1989 as part of the inaugural Walay Al-Ibrahim, the Fahd king of Saudi Arabia. It broadcast news and entertainment programs in English and Arabic to the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. The Middle East Broadcasting Center Company plans to invest 10 million to 12 million U.S. dollars in the next two years to rebuild and make a profit of the Allied International. The agency’s past debt was 60 million U.S. dollars.
