With the continuous development of hybrid drivetrain technology, MTU, a subsidiary of Germany’s Tognum Group, has introduced a hybrid drive system for diesel rail vehicles. The system consists of a modular drive unit mounted under the floor of the car, including an internal combustion diesel and electric motor with an integrated exhaust aftertreatment system.
