In terms of movie plays, Xia Yan analyzes the pursuit and characteristics of Xia Yan in the sense of the times, authenticity, lyricism and nationality. In terms of film theory, the article reviews Xia Yan’s unique contribution from the perspective of the history of Chinese film development with its pioneering, critical and constructive accomplishments
