Caohai is the largest natural lake in the west of Guizhou Plateau, with an elevation of 2,200 meters and an area of 45 square kilometers. Known as “plateau pearl,” said, is one of China’s bird sanctuary. For a long time, geoscientists in and out of the province have done a lot of research on the development and utilization of Caohai resources, but there is no blanket in the basic geological research on the formation and evolution of Caohai. In 1983, Guizhou Geological and Mineral Bureau District Brigade cooperated with the Quaternary Research Office of the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After three years of hard work, the first study in Guizhou Province was completed and provided with the evolution of plateau lakes in the near geological period On the book - “Caohai evolution” for China’s regional environmental evolution and the lake
