禁忌,一词来源于南太平洋群岛,是波利尼西亚汤加语人的土语。原意为“神圣的,不可触碰的”或“需要极端注意的事”。本文分别介绍了中西方的禁忌语种类,探究其异同及其背后蕴含的原因,可以帮助我们避免失误,伤害国外友人的感情,可以更有效地进行跨文化交际。
Taboo, the term comes from the South Pacific Islands, is Polynesian Tonga native language. Originally intended to be “sacred, untouchable” or “something that requires extreme attention.” This paper introduces the different types of taboos in the West and China, explores their similarities and differences and their underlying causes, which can help us to avoid mistakes and hurt the feelings of foreign friends and to make cross-cultural communication more effective.
