Nitriding is an effective method to improve the wear resistance of steel. Many sources (eg [1-4]) point out the facts in this respect. However, there are not many reports on the impact of various factors on the wear resistance of nitrided steel. For example, there is no detailed information on the effect of nitriding on the wear resistance of X 13 stainless steel. However, exactly such steels often require improved wear resistance. Therefore, the above knowledge on the development of advanced technology has greater practical significance. In this paper, the effects of nitriding process parameters on wear resistance of 20X_ (13) and 40X_ (13) stainless steel were studied. The test was carried out at a sliding speed of 3 m / sec and a pressure of 15 x 10 ~ (-5) bar. The abrasion resistance was determined on the basis of the mass of the sample
