今后一个时期我省自然保护区建设的总体思路是:以“多保护一些、快保护一些、保护得更好一些”为宗旨,以保护珍稀野生动物和野生植物资源及自然生态环境为根本目的,以完善设施、强化管理为手段,加快自然保护区建设步伐。具体目标是:到2010年,全省林业系统建立自然保护区达到48处,总面积达到50.99万公顷,其中国家级自然保护区10处,省、市、县级保护小区38处,初步形成较为完善的全省自然保护区网络,使90％的国家和省重点保护野生动植物和90％的典型生态系统类型得到有效保护。
