孙葆田为晚清时期山东著名学者,曾主讲开封大梁书院、济南尚志书院等,培养俊才,不遗余力,被奉为“山左大师”;为官清正廉明、不畏权势,被誉为“一代儒吏”。治经史之学,编纂《山东通志》、《南阳县志》等,皆成精品;习桐城派古文,师张裕钊,取法方苞,闻名于时。为人举止庄重、不苟戏谑,日以读经书为业;赡养一门寡弱,不遗余力,德行为当时典范。 Sun Baotian was a famous scholar in Shandong during the late Qing Dynasty. He once taught the College of Kaifeng Gully and Jinan Shangzhi College, and so on. He cultivated Jun Cai and spared no effort to be regarded as “master of the mountain leftist”. He was honored as “ Generation of Confucianism ”. Governance by the history of science, compilation of “Shandong Annals”, “Nanyang County,” and so on, are all good; Xi Tongcheng ancient prosecutors, Zhang Yu Zhao division, France Fang Bao, famous at the time.
