In order to choose a reasonable model to transport coal and ore, we must study the future transportation conditions, consider the loading and unloading facilities of the factories and mines and other enterprises, and make use of the beneficial foreign experience. The original data of the study are the size and composition of the freight volume, the direction of the freight flow, and taking into account the issues affecting the unloading of vehicles, labor protection and labor-saving. The gondola cars and hopper cars in the United States are analyzed. The gondola cars, active carriages, and various car dumper systems with movable side walls are used in the Federal Railways. The study concluded that Soviet coal and ore transportation should be selected between gondola and hopper vehicles.
