西门町的由来与发展西门町是台北少数至今仍沿用日治时期地名的区域之一,却是现今代表着繁荣与时尚的独特地标。就地理位置而言,西门町一般指以旧台北城西门旧址的圆环为中心直径一公里内之范围,亦即以现今西门圆环和中华路为中心,东起博爱路和重庆南路一部分,西至康定路,北起汉口街,南至衡阳路、成都路附近一带,以及中华路沿线。1904年,日本殖民政府拆掉了清朝所建的台北城墻及其西门,隔年公告了“台北市区
Hsimenting’s Origin and Development Ximending is one of the few regions in Taipei that continues to use the names of the Japanese during the Japanese occupation but is today a unique landmark that stands for prosperity and fashion. In terms of geographical location, Ximending generally refers to the area within a kilometer of the circle centered on the ring of the old West Gate of Chengxi, that is, to the west of Simon Circle and Zhonghua Road and east to part of Boai Road and Chongqing South Road.
