进入21世纪,材料科学和材料工业被公认为最重要、发展最快的高新技术产业之一。新材料技术对工业、农业以及国防和其他高新技术产业的发展,都具有无可替代的支撑作用。新材料同信息技术、生物技术构成当今世界高新技术的三大支柱,是产业进步的重要推动力。2000年全球新材料销售额达4000亿美元,预计2005年将突破5350亿美元,年均增长6%。 上海历来重视新材料产业的发展。在“九五”期间,新材料被列为上海市优先发展的三大高新技术产业之一,从此进入快速发展新阶段。产业总体规模迅速扩大,已初步形成了北有宝钢精品钢基地、南有上海化工区基地;新型有机材料、无机材料、金属材料、复合材料、建材等全面启动的发展格局。
In the 21st century, the materials science and materials industry is recognized as one of the most important and fastest-growing high-tech industries. New material technologies have irreplaceable support for the development of industry, agriculture, and national defense and other high-tech industries. The new materials, together with information technology and biotechnology, constitute the three pillars of high-tech in today’s world and are an important driving force for industrial progress. In 2000, global sales of new materials reached 400 billion U.S. dollars, and it is expected to exceed 535 billion U.S. dollars in 2005, with an average annual growth of 6%. Shanghai has always attached importance to the development of the new material industry. During the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” period, new materials were listed as one of the top three high-tech industries that Shanghai has given priority to, and it has since entered a new stage of rapid development. The overall scale of the industry has expanded rapidly, and a preliminary development pattern has been formed for Baosteel’s fine steel base in Beibei and Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone in the south; new organic materials, inorganic materials, metal materials, composite materials, and building materials have all started.
