地理编辑李兆洛《历代地理志韵编今释》是我国现存最早的查检地名的地理辞典,它的编辑者是清代李兆洛。李兆洛(1769～1841),字申耆,江苏武进人。是有名的学者、地理学家。嘉庆时举进士,后授安徽凤台知县,此后没有再升官,仕途并不得意。罢官以后,便专门讲学授徒,主讲于江阴书院,近20年。他不仅长于地理学,对地理很有研究,还善于诗词,著有《养一斋集》。李兆洛编辑《历代地理志韵编今释》,开始于道光二年(1822),这年他53岁,到道光十七年(1837),他68岁时才完成,前后用了15年时间,
