Abstract Objective To evaluate the accuracy and rate of change of prostate cancer by multidimensional analysis of diagnostic MR images of patients undergoing prostate biopsy using a PI-RADS version 2.0 by a diagnostician. Materials and Methods This retrospective study was HIPAA-compliant and approved by a local ethics committee. The use of relevant imaging and pathological data in the study was authorized by the patient’s written informed consent. A prospectively multi-parametric MRI scan of 101 patients with elevated prostate-specific antigen levels followed by biopsy guided by transrectal ultrasound / MR was performed. Five diagnosticians scored suspicious lesions on MRI using an improved version of the PI-RADS scoring system and an internally developed scoring system without knowledge of the pathological findings.
