Objective: To observe the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR-3) in cervical cancer and to analyze its relationship with clinical and prognosis. Methods: Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 in 80 cases of cervical cancer and 30 cases of normal cervical tissue as control group. Results: The expression of VEGF-C in cancer tissue was high, and the expression of VEGF-C in cancer tissue was relatively lower, but the expression of VEGF-C in both groups was higher than that in control group (P <0.05). The expression of VEGF-C in cancer tissue was correlated with the clinical stage The positive rate of VEGF-C expression in lymph node metastasis group was 69.6%, which was significantly higher than that in non-lymph node metastasis group (49.1%, P <0.05). The expression of VEGFR-3 in the peritumoral tissue was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). The lymphatic vessel density of VEGFR-3 in the peritumoral tissue was 19.67 ± 3.72 was significantly higher than that in the group without lymph node metastasis (10.78 ± 2.65, P <0.05). The expression of VEGFR-3 in stage Ⅰb was significantly higher than that in stage Ⅰa2 9.87 ± 1.95 and lower than stage Ⅱ a 18.78 ± 4.32, with the clinical stage and histological grade of cervical cancer increased, VEGFR-3 expression also increased, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 are closely related to the occurrence and development of cervical cancer. The detection of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 in peri-cancerous tissues may be useful to evaluate the prognosis of cervical cancer.
