塞缪尔·泰勒·柯勒律治是英国诗人、评论家,被称为文学史上的奇迹。一首绝唱,两首“残篇”确立了其在诗歌史上的一流地位。其作品《古舟子咏》历来为西方文学批评界所重视。二十世纪五六十年代,原型批评理论风靡一时,荣格、弗雷泽、弗莱等从心理学、人类学及文学方面对“原型”概念进行了不同解读,最终得出其始于《圣经》、神话与仪式。本文通过探讨《古舟子咏》中老水手形象的圣经原型,从而体会《圣经》对西方文化产生的深远影响以及诗人的自然观与宗教观。
Samuel Taylor Coleridge is a British poet and critic who is known as a miracle in the history of literature. A poem, two “residual ” established its first-class status in the history of poetry. His work “Gu Zhou Yong” has always been the focus of Western literary criticism. In the 1950s and 1960s, archetypal criticism was all the rage, and Jung, Fraser, Frye and others interpreted the concept of “prototype” psychologically, anthropologically and literally, and finally came to its conclusion In the Bible, myths and rituals. This paper explores the biblical archetypes of the image of the middle-aged sailors in The Ancient Boat Chant, thus realizing the far-reaching impact of the Bible on the Western culture and the poet’s view of nature and religion.
