中外美术交流史,是中外文化交流史的一个重要方面,也是属于文化传播学和比较艺术学范畴的一门新兴学科。近几年我主要从事中外美术交流史研究,主编了一本《中外美术交流史》（与刘晓路等14人合作,湖南教育出版社1998年出版）,完成了中华社会科学基金课题《中外佛教艺术交流》（与古丽比亚合作,尚未出版）,还写了一些论文。在研究过程中我主要有以下三点体会: The history of the exchange of Chinese and foreign art is an important aspect of the history of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.
