语言的机制问题在我国现行的语言学理论教科书中均未涉及,而伍铁平先生主编的《普通语言学概要》（高等教育出版社,1993年版）首次将此问题作为一节在第二章“语言的构造与机制”中讲解,令人注目。此书提出了语言的七种机制,即预设、排除、补偿、多余、类推、对称和经济机制。语言的机制问题目前学术界尚无定论,语言究竟有多少种机制,各种机制之间的关系如何等问题都有待于进一步讨论。我认为在以上提到的七种机制中,经济机制是最具普遍性和代表性,同时又最具描写价值和实用价值的一种。在此,笔者仅就语言的经济机制问题谈一些个人的认识。 The issue of the mechanism of language is not covered in the existing linguistic theory textbooks in our country. Here, I only talk about some personal understanding of the economic mechanism of language.
