地处鄂西北山区的谷城县,是一个具有光荣传统的革命老区,是湘鄂西革命根据地的重要组成部分,是抗日战争时期鄂西北区党委所在地。为促进老区建设,为服务老区人民,1996年成立了县老促会。自成立以来,县老促会怀着对老区人民的深厚感情,主动履职,积极尽责,不讲报酬,不图名利,满腔热情地投入老区建设,用实际行动谱写了为老区人民服务的新篇章。
