自有文学之日起、文学是什么就成为了一个历久弥新的问题。尽管先哲们对此问题早有明确的解答,可是随着时代的变迁,文学自身的发展,先哲们的解答就变得不能令人满意了。于是,文学是什么的问题就一次再次地被提出来,并要求作出新的更切合实际的回答。这并非由于可供选择的答案还不够多,而是由于原有的答案已不能契合文学嬗变更新的潮流。 Since the date of own literature, what is literature has become an everlasting problem. Although the philosophers clearly answered the question early, the philosophers’ answers became unsatisfactory as the times changed and the development of literature itself. Thus, the question of what the literature is once again raised and asked for a new, more realistic answer. This is not due to the fact that there are not enough answers for the alternatives, but because the original answers no longer fit the trend of the literary evolution.
