How Bankers Can Reforest the W orld
W ell， my idea is that all the fines 1）levied on the naughty bankers for the naughty deeds should， each year， be spent on buying a tree for every child born that year in the developing world. The scheme would be administered by the 2）townships and the villages of the developing world who would choose the trees， choose where to plant them and would maintain them， and， importantly， would tell the mother of each child where a tree might be found representing their child. The idea being not only to reforest the globe， which badly needs it， but to grow a new generation of young people who， because of having a tree planted in their name， would have a connection to the future of the planet. And， given the continuing 3）misdeeds of the bankers， I am absolutely sure that the scheme could run for years and years and years.
我的想法是把所有从那些没规矩的银行家因为恶劣行为而征收来的罚款给每一年在发展中国家出生的每个孩子买一棵树。这个计划将会由发展中国家的镇区和乡村来执行。他们会决定种哪种树，在哪里种以及怎样养护这些树。更重要的是，他们会告诉每个孩子的妈妈代表她们孩子的那棵树的位置。这个想法的目的不仅仅在于全球范围的重新造林，而这是非常迫切的，还在于培养这样一群新一代的年轻人。他们和地球的未来相联系，因为（地球上）有这样一棵以他们的名义种植的树。考虑到银行家的恶劣行为持续不断，我完全确信这个计划可以运作很多很多年。
