“新自由主义零售困惑”源于跨国流通企业的全球性空间生产,跨国流通企业将全球作为自己的战略空间,借助买方市场势力从整个价值链的角度来获取高额利润。跨国流通企业通过异质空间的拓展销售和统一采购,在全球市场加速资源整合和空间扩张,形成以跨国流通企业为系统集成者的全球流通网络。全球流通网络在空间上明显地表现出一种“去地方化”的倾向,这种去地方化体现了以全球流通网络中的构建者为主体、整合空间优势、寻获并配置全球资源、降低生产成本并提高产品附加值的全球空间的功能整合过程。低端锁定的去地方化不断成为一种路径依赖,导致发展中国家企业对跨国流通企业的高度和专用依附。
